New Jersey Homeland Security

The Mission of the Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness is to administer, coordinate, lead and supervise New Jersey's counter-terrorism and preparedness efforts.

The goal of the office is to coordinate emergency response efforts across all levels of government, law enforcement, the emergency management and response community, nonprofit organizations, the private sector and other jurisdictions as necessary, to protect the people of New Jersey. The director, who serves as a member of the State Cabinet, is the Governor's principal advisor on homeland security issues. The new office now comprises the state Office of Counter-Terrorism and the New Jersey Domestic Security Preparedness Task Force.
